The Surveyor
Ever wanted to compete in the Olympics? This might be your chance. Berthoud Recreation is hosting the second annual Family Olympics on Saturday, July 15 from 9 – 11 a.m. at Waggener Farm Park. Nic Jones, Berthoud’s Recreation supervisor for sports and fitness, described the event as “a fun Saturday morning opportunity for the whole family to come to the Recreation Center to enjoy exciting family-friendly competition through games.”
Families will start the morning by creating a family flag, then adults and children will team up to compete in six “Olympic Games” including an ultimate balloon toss, an obstacle course and a relay race. The event will conclude with a medal ceremony.
A minimum of three and maximum of seven family members are allowed on each team. The registration fee is $16 per family. The event is open to all families.
Register at the Recreation Center website: berthoud.org > Departments > Berthoud Recreation Sports and Programs > Summer Programs > Family Olympics.
Another option is to sign up through the Day Smart Recreation app at: https://apps.daysmartrecreation.com/dash/x/#/online/berthoud/programs/level/599?facility_ids=1&.
Families can also register by calling the Recreation Center at 970-532-1600.
