Christmas is a season of joy and generosity. A time to defy the darkest days with cheerful lights and counter winter’s chill with the warmth of kindness. The Christmas spirit shone brightly in our beautiful community when we asked some of our neighbors to share a Christmas wish for the people of Berthoud. Here is what they wish for you …

“My Christmas Wish is for everyone to put their differences aside and reach out to do something kind for somebody that would never expect it. Then wake up the next day and do another act of kindness.  Then repeat until it becomes a way of life.” Ryan Armagost Representative-elect District 64 Colorado State Legislature

“My wish is for no more war in the world and for everyone to be healthy.” Eric Xian Owner Eric’s New Asian Cafe

“My Christmas wish as an early childhood educator is for people to parent gently and listen to their children.” Christy Headrick Youth Services Librarian Berthoud Community Library

“I hope we can keep our town feeling small and kind. We’ve got such a great community, I’d hate to lose the “Mayberry” as we grow.” Kelly Canino Owner The Rancher’s Wife

“The holidays are so busy, but they allow me the opportunity to reflect on the people who make my life so rich. I am grateful to be a part of the Berthoud community and my wish is that you have opportunities now and throughout the coming year to seek out what is meaningful and brings joy to your life.” Chris Kirk Berthoud Town Administrator “Wishing the community all the best this holiday season and may the new year bring you joy and happiness!”

“My Christmas wish for Berthoud is that the city continues to thrive and expand but keeps its small, local feel. Just about all restaurants in Berthoud are locally owned and I hope that this trend continues with expanding options for Berthoud residents. Happy Holidays from all of us at TPC Colorado!” – Amy Marose, Food & Beverage Director at TPC Colorado | Center Stage and 773 Prime

“I am honored and humbled to be the mayor of this amazing little town, and I wish all of you a year full of peace, prosperity, and happiness.” Will Karspeck Mayor of Berthoud

“My wish is for people in Berthoud to be more aware and involved in small businesses. It’s good that we’re growing, but I hope the small-town feel stays with us as we grow.” Kaitlin Horvath Berthoud High School senior and employee at Moo Town Treatery

“My wish is that we take to heart all this season brings. That we welcome one another with a smile and well wishes, continue to lift one another, as we enjoy our beautiful community.” Jan Dowker Executive Director Berthoud Habitat for Humanity

“I hope we keep our small town feel even though we’re not a small town anymore.” Katie Hittelman Owner You +Me Floral & Gifts

“I wish for cheaper housing and for the new Taco Bell to open soon!” Haley Sorensen Berthoud native

“I wish that pet owners would regularly get their pets examined. That’s how we catch the big things before they become bad things.”  Lauren Miller Customer Service Manager Berthoud Animal Hospital

“I hope we can keep our town feeling small and kind. We’ve got such a great community; I’d hate to lose the “Mayberry” as we grow.”  Kelly Canino Owner The Rancher’s Wife

“A lot of people disagree with each other these days. My wish is that we can put those differences aside and just love each other. Just for a day, let it all go. If you see someone who needs something, just do it. Be there for your fellow man.” Engineer Kyle Stricklin and the A Shift Station One Berthoud Fire Protection District

“My Christmas wish for the people of Berthoud is “Don’t get wrapped up in the busyness of the holiday but take time to enjoy the ones around you.  There is a much greater reason for the season.” Neal Hays Owner Hays Market

“We love the path around Berthoud Reservoir. Our wish is for more paths like this and connectivity of paths throughout the town, providing safe options for crossing busy roads, and so our family can meet other Berthoud families while enjoying the outdoors. Oh, and for less wind!” Berthoud residents Rick and Karen Surbrugg  with their grandchildren

“As Berthoud’s new Postmaster, it is an honor to continue a long-standing heritage of serving this community. It is my wish – my Christmas wish – to provide the absolute best possible service to Berthoud this holiday season, ensuring everyone gets their packages on time. In the busiest week of the year, we are on track to see that wish come true.” Gina Lucero Postmaster USPS Berthoud
