On April 5, 2022, the Town of Berthoud will hold a municipal election via mail-in ballot for three Town Trustee seats. The terms of current Trustees Maureen Dower, Tim Hardy and Jeff Hindman end this April before the election. All three available seats will be for a four-year term.

According to information provided by the Town of Berthoud, six Berthoud residents submitted the necessary documents to get their names on the ballot for this spring’s municipal election by the deadline Monday evening – Karl Ayers, Ryan Berry, Timothy S. Hardy, Alex Johnson, Sean Murphy, and Ellyn Rush, with Hardy the only current trustee with an expiring term who is seeking reelection.

To be qualified to seek office as a town Trustee, an interested party must be a citizen of the United States, a registered voter 18 years of age or older and a resident of the Town of Berthoud for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding election day. It should be noted that no person can seek two separate elected positions simultaneously.

This spring, ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters from March 14 through March 21, and completed ballots must be returned to Town Hall no later than 7:00 p.m. on April 7. Prior to ballots being sent, the Surveyor will publish answers from candidates to questions posed regarding their candidacies.
