Colorado Department of Transportation employees placed crosswalk signs at the intersections of Mountain Avenue and 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7 Streets in Berthoud on March 14. The signs cost $2,500 and are expected to encourage pedestrian safety at the intersections. State law requires vehicles yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has been working with CDOT for several months to get the signs placed.
