Open Arms Awareness Day June 25

At Grace Place Church:
375 Meadowlark Dr, Berthoud, Colo.
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Community Youth Advocates Patrick Dillon and Cera Watkins, alongside many great community partners, are hosting the Second Annual Open Arms Awareness Day 2016 in Berthoud.

“Our mission has been expanded this year to include foster-care prevention and finding our local foster youth a forever home through local adoption programs,” stated Dillion in a press release. “Even though we are looking to the future, Open Arms Awareness Day is still a great tool for the public to learn more about how to become foster parents for our youth who are already in care.”

Over 300 local youth are currently in care, but we only have 47 of 65 foster homes we need to keep them from being placed outside of the county. That is why our event will have on hand professionals from The Matthews House, Grand Family Coalition, Partners Mentoring Youth, Alternatives to Violence, Crossroads Safehouse, current adoptive and former foster parents, and many more resources. For more information about our upcoming event you may contact us at 970-294-8446 or 970-294-8447, [email protected] or check us online at www.facebook.com/openarms970.

The event is scheduled for June 25 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Grace Place Church, located at 375 Meadowlark, Dr. in Berthoud.
