It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Lunetta (Lu) T Crenshaw on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022. Lunetta was born July 11, 1945, in San Diego. Calif., to John and Rose Gates. Lunetta grew up in San Diego until 1969.

She graduated from Rosary Catholic school and then attended San Diego State College. She moved to Colorado in 1969 and stayed there until 2004 when she moved to Sun City, Ariz., where she passed away from complications with ALS.

Lunetta married Wayne Allen Crenshaw on Oct. 7, 1978, and spent the next 32 years raising kids and enjoying life. They loved to do gardening, traveling, playing cards, refinishing furniture, dancing and spending time with their friends and family.

Lunetta worked for Safeway for 25 years. After her retirement from Safeway, she worked for Dillard’s and Sunburst for many years. In her younger days, she also raised Appaloosa horses and spent a lot of time in the 4-H programs.

She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Michelle Rice (husband Dean) and Barbara Michelle Deckert (Joe Aten). Grandchildren Alyssa Bowman, Mitchell Deckert, Erika Bluel and Carli Deckert. Greatgrandchildren Kaylee, Jericho, Gracelyn, Emma and Nolan and her cat Casper.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Wayne A. Crenshaw and her cat Ghostie.

A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 19, 2022, at Chuys Restaurant at 6595 W104th from 2 – 4 p.m.
