Lee Scott

Lee Brian Scott died from prostate cancer in Longmont, Colo. Lee is the son of Lee Burton and Helen Ruth (Priebe) Scott. He moved to the Berthoud area in 1985 and joined the Berthoud Fire Protection District as a volunteer in 1986. He retired as a volunteer in 2005 and became a fire investigator for the district, retiring in 2016.

Lee was also a police officer, first for University of Colorado at Boulder from 1970 to 1977, then for City of Longmont from 1977 to 2002. During his time at Longmont he was a detective in the Fraud and Forgery Department for 10 years.

Lee attended Life Bridge Christian Church in Longmont. He was an avid reader of science fiction, World War II history, and current politics.

He is survived by his wife Kristine (Berkeland) Scott, children Trevor Scott, Annandale, Va., A. Devin (Mindy) Scott, Clarkson, Neb.; grandchildren Bryon and Chloe Scott, Clarkson Neb.,
and Colleen Scott, Atlanta Ga.; Lee’s brother Dwight and wife Jeannette Scott, and sister Penny and husband Leland Lender, all in Arvada, Colo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on March 23, 2019, at LifeBridge Christian Church, 10345 Ute Highway., Longmont. Reception will follow at Berthoud Community Center, Berthoud.
