Obituary – Carol Conroy Fry

April 17, 2020 | Community News

Carol Conroy Fry passed away April 4, 2020. She was 81 years old.

Carol grew up on the family farm south of Chokio, Minnesota, attending the district’s one-room schoolhouse and graduating in 1956. She received her RN from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing and a Master’s of Science, Nursing from the University of Northern Colorado. She met her husband of 50 years, Thomas Fry, while traveling in Germany where he was stationed in the Army. Married in Hawaii, the couple settled in Greeley where they raised their family. She was a Master Gardener with dirt always under her nails and a volunteer with Habitat ReStore in Berthoud. Fiercely proud of her Irish roots, Carol pursued and received dual citizenship in 2005. And true to that heritage she was stubborn but ever kind and to whom friends and family meant everything.

The youngest of 7 children, Carol is survived by her sister Lenore McIntosh of Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, her sons Tom and Patrick, grandchildren Nora and Jack, and hundreds of nieces and nephews and extended family who loved her deeply and practically fought over her.

Friends of Carol are invited to email [email protected] to inquire about memorial information.
