Barty A. Fenimore

Barty was a skilled farmer who dedicated his professional and personal life to the care and well-being of thoroughbred horses. Barty spent his teenage years working with the United States Calvary to train wild horses and continued this passion throughout his entire adult life, training and caring for hundreds of thoroughbred horses over the course of seven decades. For 29 years Barty officiated basketball. He loved his family, his friends, his horses, and his Denver Broncos. Barty, a season ticket holder, had attended nearly every home game since the Broncos inception in 1960. He was a fixture in Berthoud, working at Hays Market for nearly 20 years until he retired at the age of 86. Barty could often be found stocking the dairy/freezer section of Hays, chatting with local residents, telling his infamous jokes, or singing a catchy song.

Barty is survived by his three sons; Jimmy Fenimore, Calvin Fenimore and Roy Fenimore, his grandchildren; Robin Phelps, Jack Fenimore, William (Blake) Fenimore and Tyler Fenimore, his great-grandchildren; Chanelle Phelps and Toby Phelps, his brothers; Floyd Fenimore, Melvin Fenimore and Elbert Fenimore, his sister Cledia Rakestraw, and his longtime companion Patricia Ann Smith.

Barty joins his beloved wife of 41 years, Willa Marie Fenimore, his brothers; WM Fenimore and Jack Fenimore, and his sister Glenda Faye Roddy in the eternal grace of God in Heaven.
