Happy Tails hosts a puppy adoption Saturday

Since becoming part owner of Happy Tails Dog Ranch in February, Ashley Dinger wanted to host an adoption event at the facility. On Saturday, July 25, Happy Tails hosts Puppy Palooza, where over 125 puppies and dogs will be available for adoption.
Puppy Palooza will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and there will be so much more than just adoption opportunities, there will be a variety of offerings for pet lovers to learn and enjoy, including a host of dog-related vendors and dog-training demonstrations. There will also be food and refreshments for people.
But the day’s focus in on adopting as many of the loveable little dogs as possible.
“They can just show up and fill out an application if they want to adopt,” Dinger said.
While there are puppies available, there are other types of dogs – such as adult dogs and senior dogs – available for adoption as well.
“We have a pretty good selection,” Dinger said.
The event is free to attend, but there is an application process for prospective adopters. And for those who aren’t ready to commit, there are also options to become a foster home for needy pets, too.
“We are always interested in fostering, as we always have pets in need of a home,” Dinger said. “We provide all the food and medical needs, so that the foster family is only providing care for the dogs.”
Happy Tails, located at 18490 County Road 1 in Berthoud, also offers a trial period with every adopted dog to ensure a good fit between pets and humans.
Dinger hopes Puppy Palooza becomes an annual event at Happy Tails.
“This is sort of our premier event,” Dinger said.
Along with being co-owner of Happy Tails, Dinger is also executive director of All Aboard Animal Rescue in Fort Collins. All Aboard hosts weekly adoption events, similar to Puppy Palooza, and has helped over 8,000 animals get adopted in the past five years, according to Dinger.
Anyone interested can also view the available adoptees online at aaanimalrescue.org/adoptables, prior to the Saturday event.
