In October 2019, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Investigations Division was contacted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a CyberTip which led LCSO to begin an investigation.  During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the home of Daniel Gerschitz Fleishman, 38, in the 1100 block of North Overland Trail in Fort Collins.  Several computers and cellular phones were seized, and evidence recovered from those devices led to the arrest of Fleishman on November 15, 2019.  He was booked into the Larimer County Jail with bond set at $250,000.

Fleishman is being charged with five felonies, including sexual exploitation of a child – production of child abusive material, a Class 3 Felony and two charges of possession of images and video of child abusive material, both class 4 felonies. He is also being charged with Invasion of Privacy for sexual gratification, a class 1 misdemeanor.

According to a press release from LCSO some of the allegations occurred while Fleishman was working for local school districts.  Fleishman was employed by Thompson School District as a substitute teacher from 2009 to 2016 and Poudre School District from 2008 to 2016.  He was a full-time teacher for Thompson School District from 2016 to 2018.

Anyone with information regarding Daniel Fleishman they feel will aid the investigation is asked to call Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Justin Atwood at 970-498-5143 or Crime Stoppers at 970221-6868 where you will remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward.

The charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty
