The Surveyor

Dillon McNamee

Just a week after being formally introduced, Alamosa’s Dillon McNamee resigned his position as head coach of Berthoud High School (BHS) football team. McNamee, who couldn’t be reached for comment, informed BHS Athletic Director/Assistant Principal Michael DeWall of his decision on Thursday morning. In a telephone conversation with the Surveyor, DeWall confirmed McNamee’s resignation but could not elaborate on the reason(s) McNamee gave for his abrupt departure. DeWall did state that finding a replacement would be his “top priority” and that he contacted Thompson School District human resources to determine the appropriate course of action. It is possible that DeWall will be able to return to the candidate pool from which McNamee was selected but that it is also possible that district HR policy may dictate a new search be started from scratch.

The Surveyor will update this story as further information becomes available.
