Often the state we find the world in seems overwhelming and out of our control. But, if everyone did a little bit to help, we would all see a big change. Colorado Gives Day is an opportunity to do just that. The statewide movement is to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.

This year Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, Dec. 8, for 24 hours. This is an opportunity every December to come together with thousands of Coloradans to strengthen our communities by helping to power nonprofits.

The Community First Foundation created Colorado Gives Day in 2010 with the financial support of Colorado-based FirstBank. Community First Foundation helps generous donors and innovative nonprofits come together to improve quality of life and create positive change across the state of Colorado.

Colorado Gives Day features a $1 million Incentive Fund. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, increasing impact and the value of every dollar donated. Colorado Gives Day has grown to be Colorado’s largest one-day online giving event, raising more than $257 million since it began in 2010.

ColoradoGives.org, where you can safely make your donations, is a year-round online giving platform featuring over 2900 Colorado nonprofit organizations. The website, ran by the Community First Foundation provides ways to give throughout the year, along with comprehensive, objective and up-to-date information about Colorado nonprofits and an easy way to support them online. Nonprofits are able to enroll through the site as well and are approved by the organization. Additionally, when you use the site to donate to participating nonprofits, your donation is boosted by the $1 Million Incentive Fund and counts toward prizes for the nonprofits that are a part of the organization.

Additionally, if you visit ColoradoGives.org and set up a free account you can create a “my favorites” list for easy access, view your donor history, set up recurring donations and even set up fundraising pages for your favorite nonprofit to share with friends and family.
