CecilAnnDunfee-1Cecil Ann Dunfee, 75, born Feb, 11, 1941, passed away as a result of a home fire on Friday, March 25, 2016, in Berthoud.

Cecil was a Berthoud resident for 10+ years. She grew up with her family on a farm in Hygiene, Colo., where she rode horses, milked cows, and had several cats and dogs.
She was a coal miner’s daughter. Cecil was married in 1957 and spent her time raising her kids in Longmont Colo.

Cecil loved crafts, especially crocheting. She made each of her grandchildren blankets. She loved to garden, travel with her family, and loved her pets, especially her Pomeranian, Alli, who passed away two months ago. Cecil was very humble and kind. She was always helping others in any way she could and was very giving, especially with her love. A great cook, frog-eye salad was a staple at our family get-togethers. She never passed up a chance to brag about one of her grandchildren’s latest accomplishments, and she told the best stories. Cecil was a strong woman with a great sense of humor and a great laugh.

She is survived by four children, Charlene (Richard) Lyons, Carl Jr (Kristi) Dunfee, Chad (Valarie) Dunfee, and Corbin Dunfee; five grandchildren, Joshua (Mara) Male, Chelsea, Calvin, Caleb, and Carlee Dunfee; and two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Cayden Male. She has one living brother Kenny (Judy) Adler and one sister Janet Parker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ivy Adler, and sister Sandra McCarthy.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016, at Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont. A reception will follow at Grace Place Church in Berthoud.

Friends may donate to Carroll-Lewellen Funeral and Cremation Services in Cecil’s name to assist her family.
