BHS Drama Club fall show

Special to the Surveyor | November 11, 2022 | Education

The year was 1981. Ronald Reagan was president. Raiders of the Lost Ark introduced us to Indiana Jones and Berthoud High School (BHS) opened its doors at its current location, 850 Spartan Ave. That year Stu Boyd directed the BHS theatre department in the musical,” You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.” Here it is, 41 years, several presidents, and a worldwide pandemic later, and Stu’s former student (albeit, not from that particular production), Chris Kouns is directing the BHS Drama Club in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.”

As you may be able to guess, from the title, the show follows the antics of the Peanuts gang. Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Sally and good old Charlie Brown all navigate through some of life’s more critical moments. Important things like, will Lucy ever make Schroeder into boyfriend material? Will Snoopy ever get his supper? Will Linus ever be able to put down his blanket? Will Charlie Brown ever win a baseball game? Or ever get his kite to take flight? Or ever get the Little Red-Haired Girl to notice him?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions, please join BHS Drama at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12. Tickets are $12 and available at the door (doors open at 7 p.m.). Contact [email protected] with questions or for advance tickets.
