Berthoud teacher arrested on charges of sexual assault of a child

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office released a statement last week indicating a 24-year-old Turner Middle School teacher had been arrested on charges of sexual assault of a child.

LCSO received a Safe2Tell report, a school safety reporting system that utilizes phone and digital anonymous reporting, alleging an inappropriate sexual relationship between a teacher and student at Turner Middle School.

The LCSO reported that after a further investigation the teacher was revealed to be Kyle Alexander Faust of Thornton and the victim was a 13-year-old girl. The alleged crimes began in March of this year and occurred both at the school and away from the school.

Investigators executed a search and arrest warrant and Faust was taken into custody without incident at his Thornton residence. He was booked into the Adams County Jail on the following allegations:

Enticement of a Child (class 4 felony) Sexual Assault of a Child by One in Position of Trust (class 3 felony) Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child (class 4 felony) Internet Luring of a Child (class 5 felony)

Faust is scheduled for a disposition hearing August 17 at the Larimer County Justice Center.
