Alan Lee Black, Jr.: Nov. 10, 1998 – April 1, 2016

April 06, 2016 | Obituaries

BLACK,-AJAlan Lee Black, Jr., “AJ” left this earth to be with Jesus on April 1, 2016.

AJ was born into his loving family’s arms on Nov. 10, 1998, in Loveland, Colo.  AJ was welcomed into this world by his parents, Alan and Shay Black, and his sisters Rachel and Alisha.  And even though he had bright red hair at birth, his family knew he was their baby boy and he belonged with them.
AJ was a junior at Berthoud High School (BHS), and graced their parking lot with his Berthoud Spartan maroon Ford Taurus, which he lovingly nicknamed “Bunghole.” Any classroom AJ walked into was brighter because of his presence, and he could lighten the mood in the most serious conversation.
AJ loved wrestling for BHS, was a state qualifier in 2016, and was cherished by his coaches and teammates. AJ also loved wrestling in his club rooms, Colorado Elite and GRIT, where he spent many hours wrestling state champions and receiving many black eyes, but learning moves that would serve him well on the mat.
AJ also enjoyed going shooting with his Dad, hunting with his Uncle Neal, and wakeboarding on the lake.
But most of all, AJ loved his family.

AJ is survived by his parents, Alan and Shay, his sisters, Rachel Ellis and husband Josh, and Alisha Black; his grandparents, Alberta and Neal Black, Sr. in Loveland, Colo.; his “Dodie,” Kathy Kullmann in Edmond, Okla., and Jerry Chancy in Savannah, Tenn. He is also survived by his Uncle Neal Black, Jr. and wife Heather of Johnstown, and Aunt “Kay” Makayla Kats and husband Jim, Praireview, Kan., as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Memorial service was held Monday, April 4, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Fellowship, 6502 E. Crossroads Blvd., Loveland, Colo. Go to www.viegutfuneralhome.com for obituary and condolenses.
